Abstract
Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally, and was responsible for 8.8 million deaths in 2015 as mentioned in the WHO. In this lecture we will focus on the natural ways to prevent cancers. As stated in the literature only 5–10% of all cancer cases can be attributed to genetic defects, whereas the remaining 90–95% have their roots in the environment and lifestyle (Preetha Anand et al. Pharm Res. 2008 Sep; 25(9): 2097–2116). We will delve into certain supplements such as curcumin which has 4000 pub med articles on that herb alone. Curcumin has different methods it can be administered eg Intravenous route as well as oral. Certain vitamins that can be taken oral and parenteral IV routes such as vitamin C and many others. Will touch upon heavy metals (Cd, Hg, As etc…) that are associated to which typical cancers eg leukemia, lymphoma, bladder cancer. How to test for heavy metal exposure, and which methods are best eg hair or urine challenge test. I hope to give the attendees of the conference knowledge to start using in practice
