Kinesiology is a modality based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chiroptic. There are a wide range of tools kinesiologists use to measure the level of stress a client is experiencing and then relieving the stress so that one can live optimally. Kinesiology will benefit a person’s wellness overall and will lead to a more balanced life. Muscle testing provides a bio-feedback system of the muscles in the body.

In times of stress and trauma, the body stimulates the adrenal glands that activates a meridian that is called the ‘triple warmer’. This in turn, effects the adrenal and thyroid glands and the temperature regulation in the body, resulting in extreme stress, tiredness, dread, terror etc.

As the adrenal glands are sitting physically above the kidneys, it can create and cause dehydration. Utilizing magnesium will calm the nervous system and will ultimately relax the muscles that will enable a body recovery into normal function.

Sharon will help empower you, ‘beyond survive, to thrive’ via meditations, tips and tools which have been developed during her 20 years of practice.

Abstract:

Reflexology is an ancient modality that has seen resurgence since the late 1800’s and more till today. It is a unique form of healing as, by working feet, hands and face, the depths of the body are reached, both physically and mentally. Research, using Doppler sonography and fMRI, shows that working specific reflexes on the feet increases activity in the organ worked as well as in the section of the brain that relates to that organ. Foot and hand reflexology were researched by Eunice Ingham over a period of some 30 years. She extensively mapped the body on both feet and hands based on feedback from clients during and after the treatment. Working on the face for healing has been practiced across cultures and continents. Facial reflexology today has two main streams. Dr. Prof. Bùi Quôc Châu, adapted auricular acupuncture to facial acupuncture and eventually to facial acupressure. He used various projections of the body on the face. Years of research led to the creation of effective treatment formulas using points and zones on the face. He called this method as Dien Chan. Lone Sorenson created facial reflexology sorensensistem. Lone, an Avid student of Natural therapies witnessed many healing traditions across the world including Asian cultures and South American tribes. Chosen and selected techniques from these ancient healing arts have created an effective modality that reaches deep into the body. Reflexology today is a vibrant modality.

Cassie Atkinson-Quinton

Body and Brain Centre

Keynote: SEA-sickness: the spine, eyes and ears involvement in dizziness and nausea

Time : 13:50-14:40 P.M

Conference Series Naturopathy 2017 International Conference Keynote Speaker Cassie Atkinson-Quinton photo
Biography:

Dr Cassie is an integrative Chiropractor and neuro-rehabilitation therapist. Director of Body and Brain Centre, a premier multidisciplinary clinic in Moonee Ponds, Melbourne, Cassie sees a variety of patients including developmental delays, dizziness, migraines and complex pain. She’s completed several post-graduate qualifications in the areas of developmental neurology, brain-based therapies, vestibular rehabilitation, sports chiropractic and functional brain scans.

Abstract:

Balance is a fundamental function that humans share with less evolved animals. It forms aprimitive building block for our elaborate, humanistic skills, such as working through complex problems. The balance system is complex: proprioceptive, vestibular and visual inputs are collated and manipulated to give an internal representation of our world. If one of these systems is dysfunctional, it can cause chaos throughout the body, including chronic pain, headaches, nausea, dizziness, fatigue and cognitive decline. These delicate systems can be disrupted by chemical, physical and emotional perturbations. For example, non-coeliac gluten sensitivity is increasingly being recognised by mainstream medicine, including as a cause of ataxia. There’s also increasing evidence for mild traumatic brain injuries and it’s involvement with vestibular dysfunction.

The function of each of these receptors and their collective processing can be assessed with physical examinations including visual inspection and simple bedside testing. More advanced tools, such as computerised dynamic posturography (computer balance assessments) and quantitative electroencephalograms (QEEG functional brain scans), can be used to further quantify and trackchanges in hyper- or hypo-functional areas of the brain and nervous system. These quantitative measures enhance our understanding of the “grey areas” in health concerns, such as chronic dizziness.
